The Honey Lounge Experience

Last night I was listening to I AM Oshun’s Honey Lounge Show on blogtalkradio.com. It was so refreshing to connect with like minds who in their own way are positively adding to the human experience. There were some great poets who called in and read their material. I did a piece from an upcoming song I’m working on called “The Purpose.” There was also a great dialog on the show about goals and taking responsibility for our manifestations. Earlier on in the show I shared a list of goals I got from a men’s group meeting my friend Stewart Swerdlow gave last year. This list has helped me stay focused on my purpose and I wanted to share it with the listeners :) I hope this list adds some guidance to your life, as it has mine.

Life Support Group Goals
To be able to change

To clean up the past

To be able to move forward

To integrate mind body and spirit

To rely on myself, my Oversoul and God Mind

To define spirituality in a way that is meaningful

To accept and like who I am at this moment in time and space

To learn to acquire knowledge as well as the wisdom to use it correctly

To acknowledge and assume total responsibility for where I am in my life including abundance, relationships, health, environment, finances, career, and personal satisfaction.

Our Spirit that Lights the Tunnel

I think that one of my challenges is letting go of worry and letting my God given abundance flow into my life. Earlier this morning I was starting to wonder how I would increase my fan base to reflect total international popularity, and started to feel overwhelmed on the promotion part of being an independent Hip Hop artist. During that moment I remembered to be grateful for what I wanted as if I already had it and thought to myself, "I am so grateful now that I have a worldwide fan base of millions." Then I checked my email and saw that I am one of the new features on The Good Men Project website. The site features different men who are making a difference in their lives and in the environment around them. Take a moment and read the Q&A interview I did. I'm sure you will be able to pull something from it that resonates with your spirit. Even after re-reading the interview I found inspiration, forgetting what I had responded to them, I thought, "wow, I said that?!"

Later in the morning I talked to my good friend Queen Diva (who I will be featuring on my blog sometime in the future) and she reminded me to let go of worry because that is the exact force that will bring our fears into fruition. Thank you for that nudge of remembrance! Once again my God-Mind reminded me that my glass is half full and overflowing, I just had to see it. In seeing it I release part of the conditioning I realized I had from my youth that focused on the negative instead of the positive. We shouldn't just look forward to seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, but seeing the light in the part of the "tunnel" we are in now, because it is there. We just have to remember it's always with us and in that remembrance we can enjoy the part of the tunnel/journey we are in now.

I then got a notice that Inspiration on Fire speaker Lisa Murray posted a blog about my mixtape a couple of days ago. In it she said "I am HONORED to be included in this ground-breaking cd project!" Thank you so much Lisa. I'm grateful that I reflect back a total support system of my deepest creativity :)

Expanding My Market

Sometimes the significance of a project isn't really known or understood while it is being made, and is only realized after it is finished. That is how I feel about my Inspiration on Fire Mixtape Series. I knew I wanted to create something that was different and would help people, but had no idea of the positive feedback I'd be getting! I am truly grateful for this. This project has allowed me to reach out to not only Hip Hop sites, but personal development blogs, blogs created by free thinkers and music lovers alike. Last month I appeared on Robin Hardy's Empowering You Radio which also featured author Allen Klien. It was really great to be on the show representing the inspirational side to Hip Hop and how it can create uplifting changes within ourselves. On the show I talked about how music can be used to uplift our spirit, and the importance of positive messages in hip hop.

Ride Heavy Radio Freestlye

Last night I called in Ride Heavy Radio and did a verse I wrote for them over the holidays. They interviewed me on Christmas Eve and always show love to indie artists so I wanted to give them something back.
